The Division of Graduate Studies offers graduate application fee waivers and discounts for applicants who meet specific criteria. If you have questions about fee waivers or discounts that are not listed below, please contact the Division of Graduate Studies. The standard application fees are:

Doctoral, Master's, Graduate Certificate, Admitted Non-Degree Seeking, and Exchange

  • $70 for domestic applicants
  • $90 for international applicants

Graduate Microcredential:

  • $35 - all applicants

The joint campus Bioengineering PhD application has a separate set of application waivers. More information is available here.

Applying for a Fee Waiver or Discount

All waivers are requested and approved through the Division of Graduate Studies application, with the exception of Need Based (International Applicants) and program specific waivers.

The graduate application includes an application fee and application waiver/discount page. Applicants indicate on this page whether they are eligible for an application fee waiver or discount. If they are eligible for a waiver or discount, they will be prompted to provide the appropriate documentation needed to verify eligibility.

The approval process is not automated. All requests are reviewed by Division of Graduate Studies staff within 5 business days after submission of required documentation.

Requests are processed in the order received. A payment page indicates that a fee waiver has been denied or not yet processed. You will receive an email indicating whether your request has been approved or denied.
